A GOOD START WAS HELPED BY INCLUSION IN THIS JENNIFER LAING'S PUBLICATION

June started making bears back around 1987 after reading an article in an American Teddy Bear magazine, she thought "I can do that". It was not easy at that time because there was almost no where in Australia to by the materials required to make a quality product. She had to buy mohair and glass eyes from overseas. All her bears have joints with split pins.

Living in Mildura meant that we had to travel to Melbourne (550km), Sydney (1000km) or Adelaide (400km) to go to shows, to both buy and sell. June has produced bears that now reside in all parts of the world, thanks to dedicated collectors who search out hand made teddies. She has exhibeted all round Australia, Singapore and the USA.

June also collects bears from other artists.

Renown artist Joy scherger. painted this picture of June's bears.

June gets pleasure from making bears to recognise milestones in her family. The painting here was painted by Joy Scherger. It is of the bears June made as the table decorations for her daughters wedding. The angel is her old bear Ted, an Alpha Farnell that she got for her 4th birthday off her mother. Joy thought while painting the picture that it would be nice to have an angel bless the group. Ted was perfect for the job.

The bears then became the gifts from the bride and groom to the attendants. She also did the same for both her sons when they married.

One of the album pages is dedicated to show some of the other creations made for special occasions.
